Business development and marketing executive at Scotwest Credit Union
Following stints in media, recruitment and the charity sector Kim Walker joined Scotwest Credit Union last year.
As business development and marketing executive she has to promote the organisation to new clients and highlights services to existing members.
That can involve a range of things such as being on a stand at a major business or conference or doing a photo shoot for a quiz winner.
She said: "As I am out in the field a lot, my working week can be very different one week to the next.
"some weeks I am at one of our select employers offices explaining to their employees the benefits of payroll deduction meaning that they save and don't miss the money because it comes out of the wages before they get them.
"Other weeks, I am attending new business meetings, updating partners on our activities, organising events or updating our website with the latest news.
"Scotwest is very active in the local community. I often attend awareness days for local residents or community groups in different areas across the west of Scotland, to let them know how we could be of benefit to them."
Walker is also responsible for writing a monthly employer update which details all the services which can be accessed via Scotwest.
Included in that is trying to add benefits for members by forging links with other organisations to give things such as airport parking discounts and beauty treatments.
And Walker has not stopped wanting to learn new things.
She added: "Outside of work, I have just completed a diploma in event management through distance learning.
"It's been fairly hectic balancing studying and work but it is already coming in useful."
