In brief...: Britons suffer theft abroad

NEARLY10 per cent of British backpackers have been a victim of theft while abroad. A further three per cent have been mugged, with men more likely to be attacked or robbed than women, a survey by InsureandGo found. Of those polled, 38 per cent did not always have travel insurance, while 20 per cent rarely or never had it. InsureandGo founder Perry Wilson said: "Travelling should be about having fun, but young people have to remember they are not indestructible."
