In brief...: QE2 leaves market gap

When the QE2 finally goes into retirement as a floating hotel in Dubai in November, she might leave a huge gap in the cruise market which many think is almost impossible to fill.

"This is the greatest ship in the world," said Skip Moss, an American on his 10th voyage on this unrivalled queen of the oceans.

This sentiment was shared by many of the 1,568 passengers on board as she handled the Atlantic waves on her January crossing from Southampton to NewYork.
