In brief...: Nationwide reduces rates

Nationwide Building Society has announced cuts in the price of some of its fixed rate and tracker mortgage deals by up to 0.27 per cent.

Rates on two-year fixed rate and two-year tracker mortgages have been reduced and a new two-year tracker has been introduced, available from 5.78 per cent with a £1,499 fee. Matthew Carter, divisional director for mortgages, said: "We remain very much open for business."
