More than half of finance directors in the UK's top companies earned over £1million last year, according to anewreport.
Research by Accountancy magazine showed that an "astonishing"
49 out of the 92 senior staff covered by the report broke through the £1m barrier for pay, bonuses and benefits.
Sally Percy, editor of Accountancy, said: "The results of our survey will do little to dampen the ever-growing row over directors' pay.
"That said, the figures for next year are likely to be more telling because they will be the first to reflect the worsening economic conditions."
