Janice Belshaw, sales and development manager, CCG Homes

A visit to a show home with her parents when she was just nine convinced Janice Belshaw to ditch dreams of pop stardom and embark on a career in property.

So on leaving school she completed an HND in land use before going on to get an honours degree in estate management.

Now, after working with some of the best known names in the industry, she is involved with new home developer CCG Homes in Cambusland.

Janice is enjoying the challenge and says: "There is never enough time. I am involved in all aspects of the business with CCG Homes, which is one of the benefits of working with a smaller organisation. At the moment, I am working with the team on our luxury town house development in Jordan hill while co-ordinating activity at one of our other developments in Kilmarnock and finishing off other developments in Newlands and Clydebank.

"This often means meeting clients as well as working with the sales team and site managers."

Despite her busy schedule she enjoys the variety of the work.

She adds: "I've just had a call from a site manager asking if it would be okay to tip 20 tons of sand on the road this weekend and I'm off to meet with a buyer in Kilmarnock, as well as arranging the sale of the show home at our townhouse development - as well as the normal day to day work.

"I also handle all sales and marketing activity and, at site level, work closely with our managing director to establish which house styles should be built on which developments."

Designing the show home also falls under Belshaw's remit and keeping customers happy is another area she looks after.

She says: "Being a smaller developer, we are very hands-on and pride ourselves on our high level of customer service."
