John Wood on the move to a new HQ

Energy giant John Wood Group is to relocate from its current office in John Wood House in Tullos, after planning permission was granted for its new headquarters.

Aberdeen City Council gave its blessing for the £60million Ardent House joint venture, above, between Miller Developments and Cromdale. Wood Group will lease 150,000 square feet of office space within the 222,000 sq ft development.

The two-acre site at Aberdeen harbour is close to the city centre with work expected to be completed in autumn 2010.

Pamela Grant, director of Miller Developments, said: "We are delighted with the decision from Aberdeen City Council. The office market in Aberdeen remains buoyant and we are confident in undertaking the 28,000 sq ft within the North Wing speculatively and are looking to pre-let the West Wing."

The council was impressed by the quality of other Miller-Cromdale developments.
