In brief...: GVA buys Alan Watt Consulting

Property agency GVA Grimley has bought Glasgow-based Alan Watt Consulting, bringing the staff count in Scotland to more than 100.

The acquisition follows a strong set of half-year results for GVA in Scotland, which billed £4.36million in the first six months to October 2007, well ahead of annual forecast.

Alan Watt managing director Alison Taylor will become a director specialising in office agency and business space. Executive directors Paul Hamilton and Guy Strachan will become directors of GVA based in Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively.

The firm's founder Alan Watt will be retained as a consultant.
