Braveheart Ventures Ltd has been renamed Strathtay Ventures Ltd
Braveheart Investment Group subsidiary Braveheart Ventures Ltd has been renamed Strathtay Ventures Ltd.
The name change is to reflect how the business had evolved since its formation in 1997 when Braveheart Ventures was the sole subsidiary firm “investing in young, unlisted companies with potential for significant growth”.
A new group website has also been launched, which “reflects the group's expansion and development over the last few years”.
Those changes include admission to the alternative investment market (AIM) in 2007 and the acquisitions of WL Ventures, Viking Fund Managers, (formerly Inkopo), Envestors and Neon Capital Partners.
Braveheart said it has also extended its business organically and formed WhiteRock Capital Partners in Ireland.
Chief executive Geoffrey Thomson said: “The group has expanded considerably, despite challenging market conditions.
“We continue to finance UK-based SMEs to the benefit of investors here and abroad.
“The rebranding and the launch of our new website reflect our current activities and ambitions.”
