Real estate partner Chris Harte will take over the role from Duncan Murray
Morton Fraser has elected real estate partner Chris Harte as its new chief executive.
Harte, who joined the firm as a trainee in 1994, has been a member of the firm's managing board since 2005.
He takes over the chief executive role from Duncan Murray, who has been in the post for the past two years.
Morton Fraser announced in December it will merge with Glasgow-based Macdonalds in the first quarter of 2013.
The merged firms, which will have an estimated turnover of £17 million turnover, will operate under the Morton Fraser name.
Harte said: "I am very much looking forward to the completion of the merger with Macdonalds which my predecessor, Duncan Murray, has overseen.
“This will be an important step in the growth of the firm.
“We have ambitious plans for strategic growth in the right locations and markets, and we remain hugely committed to delivering both quality and value for our clients. I am very excited about the opportunities which lie ahead for us.”
