Patrick Knechtli and Mark Nicolson promoted to partner and Jamie Ebersole to managing director
Standard Life (SL) Capital Partners has announced three new senior appointments.
Patrick Knechtli and Mark Nicolson have been promoted to partner and Jamie Ebersole to managing director in the private equity fund manager.
Knechtli, who joined SL Capital’s Edinburgh office in 2009, will lead the firm's secondary investment programme as well a stake a lead role in pursuing and transacting primary fund investments and direct co-investment opportunities.
Nicolson, who joined SL Capital in 2007, will focus on leading primary fund investments, secondary investments and direct co-investments as well as covering SL Capital’s activity in the energy and natural resources markets.
He is responsible for SL Capital’s coverage and origination in the UK and Germanic markets and sits on the advisory boards of a number of European private equity funds.
Ebersole, who joined SL Capital in 2008, will take responsibility for the management of SL Capital’s US investment team and North American investment programme based in Boston.
He is reported to have helped to develop SL Capital’s investment coverage across North America and sits on the advisory boards of several leading North American private equity funds.

SL Capital Partners has raised around €6.5 billion (£5.3 billion) in private equity assets from clients in the past 13 years through sixteen different funds with more than 75 per cent of the capital coming from outside the Standard Life Group.
