Robin Shannan will chair a new management board of six senior partners at the firm
McClure Naismith LLP, has appointed Robin Shannan as its first executive chairman.
Shannan, a senior commercial and financial services partner, will chair a new management board of six senior partners – Alan Thomson, Morag Campbell, Philip Sim, David Thomson, Ewen Brown and Steven Brown.
The firm has also reorganised its practice areas to better draw from its portfolio of in-house expertise.
McClure Naismith, which was founded in 1826, has also changed its method of partner remuneration, which it says will help to attract, develop and retain talented lawyers.
Shannan said: “It has been a tough few years for the legal profession, however we are in good shape having cut costs, held our income and with a focused strategy to develop and move the business into new income streams.
“Our strategy is to make sure we deliver our legal services as part of a business proposition that fits with the client’s business aims and needs and gives a solution that he will see as adding value.
“Part of my role is to reinforce that approach and ensure the highly talented McClures teams across practice areas get the support they need to deliver for our clients in this challenging market place.”
He added: “The last two years has seen rapid change within the legal profession in Scotland and there is more change on the way.
“McClure Naismith is ready for these changes and I am pleased to say that our current workload is strong.”
