Land and rural business specialist Mike Blair joins the firm from Thorntons

Land and rural business specialist Mike Blair is joining Gillespie Macandrew as partner.

Blair joins the firm from Thorntons, where he was a partner in their Perth office heading up the rural legal business section.

Ian Turnbull, Gillespie Macandrew managing partner, said: “This is a watershed appointment for us as it means we now have two of the four solicitors in Scotland rated Band 1 Agricultural & Rural Affairs lawyers by Chambers UK.

“Bringing Mike on board to join the team led by Robert Scott-Dempster, also rated Band 1, adds significant experience to an already highly qualified and knowledgeable department.

“With the opening of our Perth office scheduled for early August, on-going investment in our land and rural business service continues to be a major objective for the firm.”
