McClure Naismith partner gains recognition
The Law Society of Scotland has named its first accredited specialist in arbitration law.
Brandon Malone, construction disputes partner with McClure Naismith, becomes the first Scottish based lawyer to get the qualification.
The solicitor advocate is chairman of the recently formed Scottish Arbitration Centre
He said: "I'm delighted to have been accredited in this field by the Law Society of Scotland.
"With the new Arbitration (Scotland) Act, and the advantages it offers over litigation, the demand for arbitration services will increase over the coming years and all solicitors will need to be fully aware of the implications of the Act for their clients."
Alan Thomson, chairman of McClure Naisimth, said: "We are delighted that Brandon has won recognition for his expertise in a complex and highly important field of commercial law.
"Dispute resolution is a key area of expertise for the firm and Brandon has helped develop a new dimension to the range of services we offer."
