Corporate insolvency expansion for practice
Corporate recovery specialist Begbies Traynor has bought the insolvency and sequestration portfolio of Invocas Financial.
The financial value of the deal is not being revealed by either party.
However a small number of insolvency management and administration staff are in talks about transferring to Begbies.
Ken Pattullo, managing partner in Scotland, said: "Like many sectors, we are seeing continuing tough trading conditions, but the deal to bring the Invocas corporate portfolio into our group underlines our ongoing commitment to growing our presence and expertise in Scotland.
"We are continually looking to expand our business and this portfolio acquisition came as a part of our ongoing drive to continue to grow our share of the insolvency market in Scotland."
The firm's Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee offices will start work on existing cases - including administrations, sequestrations, bankruptcies, receiverships, liquidations and partnership voluntary arrangements - immediately.
