In brief...: Legal bigwigs income bonus

The UK's top 100 law firms saw their income rise by 6.3 per cent in the first quarter of the year.

For the quarter ended July 31 the top10 firms recorded an increase of more than 11 per cent.

Deloitte's Quarterly Legal Sector Survey found revenues are up due to rising fees rather than any growth in business.

Although revenue continued to grow in the first quarter, the rate of growth halved compared with the previous quarter.
