In brief...: ACCA test success hits record

A record number of students successfully completed their Association of Chartered Certified Accountants final examinations.

There was also a record number of entrants for the examinations in June with 164,646 candidates taking a total of 335,566 papers.

The exam results show 6,174 students successfully completed their final examinations, to become ACCA affiliates.

Student performance at the professional level was in line with expectations but there were some disappointing results within the Fundamentals papers.

Clare Minchington, ACCA's managing director - learning and technical policy, said: "To meet the demands of complex economies, we are committed to meet the highest standards and provide a thorough testing of our students."
