In brief...: Paralegals to be registered

Paralegals are to be registered with the Law Society of Scotland.

An agreement between the Society and the Scottish Paralegal Association has been made in principle.

Work on the detailed arrangements is expected to begin soon and the scheme could start this year.

Neil Stevenson, head of strategic change at the Society, said: "We are going through a process of considerable change - this is just one example of our forward thinking."
