In brief...: Biggart aids garden deal

Biggart Baillie acted as advisers to Sandyholm Garden Centre in its £8million sale to Dobbies earlier this month.

It was the first acquisition by Dobbies since Tesco took a majority shareholding in the business.

Wayne Lawrence, corporate partner at Biggart Baillie, said: "We were very pleased to help our clients achieve a great deal in a very tight time frame.

"The transaction was jointly led by our corporate and property specialists, with significant input from our tax, employment and pensions specialists, so it was a real team effort across the firm."

David Warnock, of Sandyholm, said: "I was very impressed with the Biggart Baillie team.

"They did an excellent job managing all aspects of the transaction. I highly recommend them."
