Legal firms branch out

The forestry Commission Scotland has announced who will be providing its legal services.

For the first time the body has divided its requirements into two lots.

Following an extensive tender process Tods Murray has been retained to work on commercial and public law, employment and litigation.

And Harper Macleod has been given the role of looking after property management including acquisitions, disposals, leases and partnerships.

The contracts are effective for a minimum period of three years, effective from March this year.

Peter Paterson, of Tods Murray, is lead partner for the firm on Forestry Commission work.

He said: "We are delighted to have been retained to work with the Commission and look forward to working even more closely with the Commission and assisting them in delivering their strategy."
