In brief...: Blu-ray wins format war
Blu-RAY has emerged as winner in the format war with its rival HD DVD.
Toshiba confirmed it would no longer develop, make or market HD DVD players or recorders.
The move is good news for UK shoppers who have not yet invested in either Blu-ray or HD DVD next generation DVD players, experts said.
