Brits revel in joy of text
In brief...
Britons now send more than a billion text messages a week, new research has revealed.
A total of 4,825 billion texts were sent in September 2007, an increase of 25 per cent on last year, according to the Mobile Data Association. This equates to 4,000 SMS messages every second or 70 per person per month.
The MDA has attributed this surge to new deals and the nature of SMS.
