Edelweiss said the Monday and Friday service will begin in May, 2014
Swiss airline Edelweiss is to launch a twice weekly service between Zurich and Edinburgh.
The service, which will operate every Monday and Friday, will begin from May, 2014.
Edelweiss said it is launching the flights to capitalise on the growing demand from Switzerland for links to Scotland .
VisitScotland chairman Mike Cantlay said: “This new service is a glowing endorsement of Scotland as a holiday destination and is extremely timely as we prepare to welcome the world in 2014.
“As a financial hub, Edinburgh is ideally placed to capitalise on the business links afforded by the Zurich connection.
“The close collaboration between Edelweiss and sister company, Swiss International Air, also means Scotland’s capital city is able to connect with 45 other destinations beyond Zurich.
“This ensures Scotland maintains strong links to a massive global audience and is at the forefront of both the business and leisure market.”
