One year contract worth "tens of millions"
The full value of the one-year contract has not been disclosed, but is thought to be valued in the "tens of millions".
VWS Westgarth, originally part of the Weir Group, will design, equip and support a single lift module seawater sulphate reduction package (SRP) system.
The SRP is designed to remove sulphates which can create scaling from injection water to enhance oil recovery.
Westgarth will create an SRP system for the Xikomba floating production, storage and offloading vessel when it's moved to new moorings in Block 15 offshore Angola.
This latest contract win is VWS Westgarths eighth collaboration with SBM to date and will be managed from the group's East Kilbride base.
VWS Westgarth currently employs 160 people at its plant in East Kilbride.
