Jeweller looking to attract smartphone market
Rox has spent £25,000 on a new website designed specifically for customers using smartphones.
The Glasgow company believes it is the first jeweller in the UK to optimise its online offering in this way.
With the site optimised for iPhone and a range of Android devices Rox hopes to attract an extra 7,500 visitors per month
Kyron Keogh, managing director and co-owner, said: “Online sales now account for 15 per cent of our annual turnover and with the rapid increase of smart phones we felt it was essential to upgrade our website to offer our customers a superior browsing experience.
"There is already considerable existing demand to engage with our customers via mobile devices.
"Traditionally jewellers rely on in-store purchases however we have seen a real surge in the popularity of our website.
"We want to make sure that the shopping experience is as smooth as possible for customers who want to shop online as it is for those that shop in our boutiques.
"The added convenience that mobile provides to our shoppers makes it a vital channel for ROX. Our customers can now browse and purchase securely from over 20,000 products on their smart phone."
Ayrshire firm Webage built the site.
