The 3,700 sq. ft store will be the first of its Local ship format to open in Fife
Supermarket chain Sainsbury's it to open its first Local format store in Fife after agreeing terms on a 3,700 sq. ft retail unit in St Andrews.
Sainsbury's has agreed to take the ground floor level of the two storey, 5,800 sq.ft unit on Market Street, which has recently been refurbished.
Agents Gunn Property Consultants acted for the landlord and Savills acted on behalf of Sainsbury's.
Jim Bishop, Sainsbury's regional acquisition manager for Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be opening a Sainsbury’s Local on a prime spot on Market Street.
“We have worked closely with the local private landlord and are looking forward to bringing the first Sainsbury’s Local to Fife.”
Stephen Gunn of Gunn Property Consultants added : “There were a number of national retailers and restaurateurs bidding for this site, but Sainsbury’s has a great track record of performing on these types of deals which appealed to the landlord.”
