Aston Villa manager and business partner sell up
The Brunswick Hotel is being converted back into a townhouse.
The 19th century William Playfair property, in the New Town of Edinburgh, was owned by businessman Ewan Gillies along with former Scotland and Rangers manager Alex McLeish.
The new owners intend to change the 10-bed hotel, which was on the market for offers over £795,000, back into a residential home.
Gillies said: "In recent times I have had to run the hotel under management due to other business commitments and Alex has always been a silent partner."
David Reid, partner at Knight Frank, which handled the sale of the hotel, said: "It was my colleague Patrick Paton who first noticed that although the small hotel is a successful business it would also be perfect for residential use."
