INTERNET bank fraud almost trebled in the first half of this year, alarming figures reveal.
Online crooks targeting bank customers got away with £21.4million, according to official data.
The 185 per cent surge reversed a sharp decrease in the first half of last year, as con artists try to outwit the banks.
Aspokeswoman said: "It's like an arms race. One side gets a bigger gun, so the other side buys an even bigger one."
