900 jobs to go as Ryanair cut back on winter Stansted flights

AROUND 900 jobs will be lost as Ryanair cut back their flights this winter.

The Irish no-frills carrier yesterday said there would be 14 per cent fewer weekly flights from their Stansted hub, near London.

Chief executive Michael O'Leary said 150 Ryanair staff would be lost and the rest would come from the airport.

He blamed oil prices, the Civil Aviation Authority and the cost of using the airport.

Earlier this week, they announced a similar plan for Dublin airport.
