Building a beach life

A scottish recruitment agency is leading the hunt to provide 60,000 workers for one of the world's most prestigious building projects.

Orion Group is looking for employees to fill a variety of roles on the Al-Raha Beach development in the United Arab Emirates.

Eight kilometres of waterfront in the capital Abu Dhabi are being turned into an upmarket new community for up to 200,000 people.

The development consists of several canal-front precincts including residential, commercial, tourism, recreation and public spaces.

Hotels, marinas, parks, shops and restaurants will be linked together by canals, bridges and water transport along the coast.

Ken MacGregor, Orion projects director, said: "The scale of this development is immense. We have a dedicated recruitment team based on site in Abu Dhabi and a support team at Orion's headquarters.

"Prospective staff are finding the lifestyle in Abu Dhabi seriously enticing.

"It's generally regarded as a great place to live in the Middle East, with the added appeal of tax-free salaries."

Inverness-based Orion is currently recruiting for various management positions including construction, logistics and engineering.
