New 15-year deal with Rockstar Inc extends original partnership set up in 2007
Soft drinks maker AG Barr has extended its sale and distribution deal with US energy drink maker Rockstar Inc.
Cumbernauld-based Barr has agreed a new 15-year franchise deal with Rockstar, which both parties first entered into in 2007.
Rockstar makes a range of so-called 'high energy' drinks, which include more than 32 miligrams of caffeine per 100 millilitres.
AG Barr said in a statement: "This amendment to our existing agreement will extend the current contract through to 2024, further cementing the strong relationship between the two companies and highlighting the future growth potential of the Rockstar brand in the UK."
Barr has also announced today financing plans for a £41.5 million expansion project at its Milton Keynes plant - £15 million of which will be financed from new debt facilities.
