Scottish merchant bank Quayle Munro's new chief executive Peter Norris made his first major acquisition since taking over the role when he announced it was buying van Tulleken in a £6.1million deal.

The international corporate finance adviser specialises in the publishing, information and technology industries.

Quayle said the combined group would have a broader, better balanced corporate finance business with greater diversity of revenues.
