Cocktail for a whopping £3,700

If you think drinks prices in hotels and style bars in Edinburgh and Glasgow are getting out of hand then better hold off on that trip to Dubai.

Bosses at the seven-star Burj Al Arab have launched what they are calling the world's most expensive cocktail - the 27321 - named after the floor of the bar it is available from and the height of the hotel.

The tipple has been introduced at the Skyview Bar and will set you back an eye watering £3,700.

Only 10 of the drinks, based on a recipe from the 1880s, will ever be made and two have already been snapped up. Ingredients are Macallan 55-year-old single malt, dried fruit bitters from cocktail company The Bitter Truth and ice cubes made of Scottish spring water.

There is also a wooden stirrer carved from a Macallan sherry cask and it is served in a Baccarat crystal glass tumbler coated with 18 carat gold.
