Indian dream

Owners of the new Bollywood restaurant have revealed ambitious expansion plans for the concept.

Though it only opened last month it is already serving more than 100 customers in Dundee every lunchtime.

This success has convinced Tony Hussain, managing director of SHK Property and Investments - the company behind the restaurant - to take the concept to other sites across Scotland.

He is looking in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline and Stirling for suitable outlets.

They want premises which are around 4000 sq ft and can accommodate 200 diners.

Asearch for working partners in the licensed trade to help develop the brand is also under way.

Hussain said: "The popularity of Bollywood has been instant and far exceeded our best expectations.

"Consequently, I'm now seeking a working partner in the licensed trade to help develop the brand and build it rapidly throughout Scotland.

"We want to open in Edinburgh by the end of the year and have other outlets across the country as well."

Hussain, who has connections with the Bollywood film industry, added: "People like the variety, the decor and knowing what they are going to pay."
