AG Barr on course

Irn Bru maker says trading has been good

SOFT drinks firm AG Barr has said trading in the first 15 weeks of 2008 is ahead of the previous year.

The company has recently started another high profile Irn Bru advertising campaign with other brands in the portfolio including Strathmore, Tizer and Orangina.

Chairman Robin Barr told the AGM in Glasgow the company remained on target for a successful year.

He said: "A.G.Barr has started the year well with revenue in the first 15 weeks ahead of the corresponding period last year.

"This is a particularly positive performance in light of the excellent weather experienced during April and May of last year and reflects the continued progress being made across our portfolio.

"Trading conditions are competitive across the soft drinks category but we remain confident at this early stage that we are on course for another successful year."
