Television executive will join in September after lengthy court battle
ALAN Clements will join stv as director of content on September 15.
It brings to an end a lengthy recruitment process dating back to March 2007 when Clements resigned from RDF.
They claimed he had breached a three year non-compete clause by holding negotiations with stv.
The case was taken to the High Court where judges found in favour of RDF.
However Clements will soon be responsible for all of stv's network and regional television programme output.
Rob Woodward, SMG chief executive, said: “Alan is one of the UK’s most respected programme makers and we are delighted that he will be joining the team later this year.
"Content is key to stv’s success in the future and Alan’s role will have a major impact on our content output.
"The provision of content that audiences want is a topical agenda with renewed interest by the Scottish Broadcasting Commission and Ofcom and we look forward to Alan becoming a key part of these debates.”
Clements, said: “I am passionate about TV programming and I am delighted to be joining stv in the most exciting job in Scottish television.
"I can’t wait to get started in a few months.”
