Glitzy night to highlight crucial role sector plays
Scotland's top recruitment firms will be celebrating their achievements at a glitzy black tie awards ceremony next month.
The annual Scottish Recruitment Awards are being held at the Glasgow Hilton on March 6.
One of the judges, Kai McCabe, the former managing director of Search Consultancy, said: "The recruitment sector plays a crucial but often unsung role in Scotland's economy and these awards highlight those individuals and companies who stand out in what is a dynamic sector."
Stephen Melville, chief executive of title sponsor of the event, payroll company My Key Pay, chaired the panel.
"As expected my fellow judges and I were highly impressed by the calibre of entrants," he said.
"What was particularly apparent on an agency level was the focus on developing the practices and processes in the recruitment sector in Scotland."
Other members of the judging team are Judy Wagner, founding director of executive search business FWB, Elizabeth Jackson, a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD with an extensive background in HR, predominately in the manufacturing sector, and Julie Inglis, who worked for 10 years in the recruitment industry before becoming co-founder of telecoms company Kube Networks.
Among those battling for the Large Agency of the Year are Change Recruitment Group, First People Solutions Group and Search Consultancy Ltd.
The Most Successful Newcomer Agency title will be contested by One Recruitment and Ultimate Resourcing.
Recruitment Team of the Year is between First People Solutions Group (Aviation), Office Services Division (Search) and Contract Scotland (Temp Section).
Matthew Ellis (Blue Arrow), Samuel Hendry (Change Recruitment) and Rebecca Williamson (Staffinders) are in the running for the Newcomer Consultant of the Year award while Industry Recruiter of the Year features a shortlist of ECG Facility Services, O2 and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
The gala dinner and awards ceremony will be hosted by BBC Scotland's Jackie Bird. Tickets are still available.
