The Insider 500 is a comprehensive database of Scotland's leading companies, ranked by a combination of turnover and profit.

Each company must have fully audited accounts, and either have a UK or international head office in Scotland, or 90% of their turnover must be generated in Scotland.
2009 is the 25th Anniversary of Insider magazine, to mark this achievement  a new event has been introduced to our extensive calander of events which will celebrate the launch of the Top 500 companies.

The listing will be revealed at a special business breakfast at the Sheraton Hotel, Edinburgh on Friday 9th January.

Attendees at this event will include chairmen, chief executives, finance directors, marketing directors and other executives from Scotlands Top 500 companies as well as bankers, lawyers, accountants, and other professional advisers.

Hosted by Stephen Jardine, a keynote speech will be delivered by a leading economist who will give some guidance to executives about what to expect in the UK and global economy during 2009 and how they see things developing.  Well also hear views about the sectors which have benefited from recessions in the past and which ones could do well in this one.

Following the keynote speech a panel of industry leaders will then discuss the speech and then take questions from the audience
