Insider Elite Awards

Since they were inaugurated in 1992 these coveted awards have become widely acknowledged as Scotland's Business Oscars. Some 400 leaders in business, the professions and the public services nominate those whose impact on Scotland they consider outstanding.

The evening consists of an exceptionally well-appointed gala dinner for 500 guests and awards ceremony attended by the leadership cream of Scottish business, finance, the professions and public services.

What makes these Awards unique is that the distinguished recipients are chosen by a 400-strong peer group of top Scottish business and professional leaders and from among the 50,000+ readers of Scottish Business Insider.

Nominations for the top award, the Insider Elite Leader of the Year, are made in the same way and the winning selection is endorsed by previous recipients of this accolade – all members of Insider's Academy of Elite.

After dinner speakers include an Insider Elite Leadership lecture, which as in previous years, will be delivered by a high profile and well-informed commentator on leadership. The 2007 lecture was delivered by Sir Richard Needham, International and Commercial Director of Dyson and former Conservative MP and Michael Heseltine's Deputy at the DTI.
